Abandoned UK pub still has poured pint sitting on counter after 20 YEARS untouched

The Harrow, located in Kent, has been sitting abandoned since 2006 - and it looks like punters were preparing to return, with a pint left standing on the bar counter

An urban explorer discovered a British pub that was left abandoned nearly two decades ago – with booze left behind on the shelves and a punter's pint still sitting on the counter.

Located in Kent, The Harrow shut its doors in 2006 when the chain which owned it entered administration. The building has been sitting empty ever since.

"It's a special feeling finding something just by driving past like you've discovered the hidden past," explorer Sean Piper told NeedToKnow. "It was like the business shut overnight and people were expecting to return.

"I've visited the site a few times as it's local to me," he continued. "The decay gets worse every time. The first thing that hit me as I walked through the conservatory door was the smell. The damp and mould was severe."

The pub's entrance is also completely overgrown, with nature having long ago reclaimed the building. Sean also noted that several doors at the pub seem to have been left open.

Inside, meanwhile, the tables are still set up with menus and some areas of the pub appear to be almost completely intact. Even the bar has been left stocked, with bottles of booze and a poured pint still on the counter.

The Harrow also offered rooms for overnight guests to book, but these have not held up as well. The rooms are covered in mould and damp and the ceiling has completely eroded in some places.

It comes after another urban explorer revealed his creepy findings after stumbling across an eerie derelict care home.

Sean Urbex decided to explore the site, which has been left to rot for around five years in East Sussex, and uncovered abandoned beds, baby dolls and mould-covered photos still inside.

From the outside, the building looks unremarkable - but the inside tells a different story. "The care home seemed so clean and fresh on the outside so we were surprised to see how smelly, damp and mouldy it was inside," Sean, from Kent, told What's The Jam .

"There were photos on the walls completely covered in black spores. It was shocking to see all the equipment, and beds left behind."

Sean continued: "Care homes are always quite sad explores, especially when you know people were mistreated here. We were able to explore the building by walking right through the front door! The care home closed in 2020 and has had an uncertain future."

Sean took to Instagram to share some chilling snaps from inside the care home, including dolls left perched on ledges, rotting ceilings, a commode in a hallway, and machinery once used to move patients.

Other images reveal a mouldy bathroom, an abandoned living room with an old armchair and bookcase, and decaying rugs and furniture.
