Tesco introduces 270 new and improved products in major revamp

The supermarket has had a major update on the brands it works with as part of its frozen selection, and has made improvements to its own-brand products

Tesco has introduced 270 new and improved products as part of its biggest revamp of its frozen range since 2018.

The supermarket has had a major update on the brands it works with, which means shoppers will now be able to shop products from the likes of Greggs, Crosta Mollica, Zizzi, White Rabbit, Kitchen Joy and Itsu, plus new labels Street Snacks and Craft Pizza.

Tesco has also revamped its own-brand frozen offerings, including air-fryer instructions for fans of the popular energy-saving appliance. On top of this, the grocer has extended its Finest frozen range with new pizzas, pies, poultry, fish, meat and desserts.

Christmas has also started early for Tesco shoppers, with favourites such as Finest Beef Wellington, Finest Pigs in Blankets, Finest Potato Dauphinoise and Finest White Chocolate, Mascarpone, Raspberry and Blueberry Cheesecake arriving in stores.

Tesco says it has updated over 50 products with an improved recipe and refreshed packaging. Across meat, fish and poultry, Tesco have introduced 17 new lines and improved seven existing favourites.

Tesco research found that a third of people eat frozen food at least twice a week.

Tesco Frozen Category Director, Naomi Kasolowsky said: “We are excited to bring the biggest change to our frozen aisle in nearly a decade, with more than 270 new and improved products.

“Frozen food is fantastic quality, super convenient and offers great value. We know our customers will love the changes coming this autumn as we improve both our Tesco range and introduce exciting new brands to the shelves. ”

It comes after Tesco increased the price of its meal deal last month. For its Clubcard members, the cost of the popular lunchtime option has risen from £3.60 to £3.85. The price of a Tesco meal deal without a Clubcard has gone up from £4 to £4.25.

Currently the most popular items in the supermarket meal deal are the Tesco Chicken Club Sandwich for main, Tesco Egg Protein Pot as the snack, and Coca-Cola 500ml.

These would cost £6.50 when purchased separately, giving Clubcard members a saving of £2.65. The price of the premium Tesco meal deal has increased from £5 to £5.50 for those with a Clubcard, and from £5.50 to £6 for those without.

It marks the third time Tesco has raised the price of its meal deal for Clubcard members, and the fourth time for those who are not signed up to its loyalty scheme.

Initially, in February, the price rose from £3 to £3.50 for non-Clubcard members, while the Clubcard price remained at £3. Later that year in October, Tesco increased the price again, making it £3.40 for Clubcard holders and £3.90 for non-Clubcard holders.

It then rose again to £3.60 for Clubcard members, and £4 for those without, in August 2024. Tesco said it will be introducing new products into its premium meal deal in the coming days.
